About Us
Choices Youth Development Organization (CYDO) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and its affiliates One Brother's Choice (OBC) and Sista to Sister is designed for youth grades 5-8. Utilizes evidence-based and best practice models
support all youth and young adults with the necessary skills and mindset to make responsible life decisions and embrace meaningful values. Choice's outreach offers information, instruction guidance and encouragement to youth by approaching development from a real-world perspective. Using education as a foundation and life exposure and experiences as pillars, we aim to foster positive decision-making skills to our youth who are old enough to envision the future yet young to develop the attitude, knowledge and behaviors that will lead to positive personal and community outcomes
Our Story
CYDO founded in 2016, is an award-winning mentoring program. this male initiative was born from a collaboration between I Brother II another and the Choices Male Alliance. In 2023, a female youth program. Sista to Sister was formed to address the needs of the girls and young female adults in our community. The program collaborates with participants and their parents or guardian to develop action plans addressing various aspects of our mentees lives. When necessary, the program provides referrals to behavioral, social and emotional professionals, ensuring a comprehensive approach to better respond to the unique needs of each individual. This holistic approach helps our youth to overcome challenges and build a strong foundation for their future.
